My name is Pilar and I am a 27 year old native Spanish speaker from the lovely tropical country of Guatemala. I graduated from La Universidad de San Carlos with a bachelors degree in Environmental Engineering and I have been speaking English as my second language for over half a decade in both business and academic settings. I have a passion for teaching and helping others unlock their full potential.

After not speaking Spanish for 28 years, I set a goal 4 months ago to relearn this beautiful language again in preparation for a trip to Guatemala. Pilar has been my tutor in this pursuit. She is born and raised in Guatemala, so Spanish is her first language. She is also fluent in English. Upon our first meeting, she quickly evaluated my level of knowledge in the Spanish language. She has created tailored weekly lessons based on teaching me grammar and pronunciation while also keeping in mind what I will need to communicate as a first time traveler to her country. I have personally found that having a native Spanish speaker as my tutor has been extremely helpful.
